Zusammenfassung
Die Grenzen zwischen Realität und Virtualität verschwimmen zusehends. Getrieben durch die fortschreitende Digitalisierung und nicht erst seitdem das Schlagwort Metaverse in den Medien omnipräsent ist, verbringen Millionen von Menschen ihre Zeit in virtuellen Welten. Als Avatare besuchen sie Orte der Kommunikation, des Entertainments, des Konsums und der Kreation. Während die Ursprünge dieser Entwicklung im Kern zutiefst menschlich sind, zeichnen sich die Tendenzen der Auswirkungen auf unser virtuelles Leben und die Gesellschaft erst langsam ab. Die wachsende Relevanz und Verbreitung von XR-Schlüsseltechnologien, wie Virtual Reality, wird diese Art von Erfahrungen noch deutlich intensivieren und eine neue Form von virtuellem Lifestyle an der Schnittstelle zwischen Realität und Virtualität prägen, der sich bereits heute an verschiedenen Beispielen erahnen lässt.
