Zusammenfassung
Kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) werden in Zukunft zahlreiche Maßnahmen ergreifen, um ihrer ökologischen Verantwortung auf dem Weg zur Klimaneutralität gerecht zu werden. Die Bedeutung des Carbon Managements wird aufgrund von Vorschriften und sich ändernden Anforderungen der Stakeholder zunehmen und den Stellenwert in der Geschäftsmodellentwicklung von KMU in den kommenden Jahren erhöhen.

In diesem Werk werden die Treibhausgasemissionen der einfacheren Lesbarkeit wegen als CO2-Emissionen oder als CO2-Fußabdruck bezeichnet, obwohl neben CO2 weitere Gase einbezogen werden (z. B. Methan CH4) und die konsolidierte Treibhausgaswirkung aller Gase korrekterweise als CO2e (CO2-Äquivalente) geschrieben würde.
