Maschinelles Lernen kommt in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften für unterschiedliche Zwecke zum Einsatz. Der Abschnitt zeigt vier zentrale Anwendungsbereiche des maschinellen Lernens auf: Informationsextraktion, Vorhersagen, Kausalität, Simulationen. Die Ergebnisse werden in Relation zu ökonometrischen Analysen gesetzt.
