Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel geht es um Gaben in und zwischen Unternehmen und um bedeutende Ökonomen, die, wenn auch unter utilitaristischen Vorzeichen, die Relevanz der Gabe – des Vertrauens, des kooperativen Verhaltens, der Loyalität gegenüber Partnern – auch für die moderne Wirtschaft anerkennen. Zu studieren ist, wie sie dadurch zur Anerkennung der Grenzen ökonomischer Theorie und Praxis geführt werden, oder jedenfalls in die Nähe der Einsicht, dass es jenseits von Märkten und Organisationen ein Drittes gibt: Normen und Moral. Das Kapitel schließt mit einer Diskussion der von Derrida postulierten „Dissemination“ aller Bedeutung und einem Versuch, Sinn als Eigenwert performativer Sprechakte und zugehöriger sozialer Praktiken zu bestimmen – am Beispiel des Begriffs und des Sinns der Gabe.
