Abstract
Now that a definition of the term “children’s film” is available, which will determine the canon of films to be selected for further examination, an initial colloquial overview of the most common terms in the context of humour will be compiled. Subsequently, the state of research on the subject of humour in will be presented, the aim of which is to provide a scientific definition of the subject of the investigation, “humour”, which will be decisive for our own analyses. The question is simply what humour actually is and how it can be made measurable in order to be able to apply it to films and children’s verbal expressions.
