Abstract
Besides the two themes of environment and time, a third common theme was identified among the eight Universal Dimensions of Culture (UDCs), the theme of human behavior. In this dissertation, the theme of human behavior was operationalized into the UDC Human Orientation and the UDC Indulgence versus Restraint by A6 and A7. The synthesis of the two UDCs is demonstrated in chapter 7—UDC Human Behavior (Section 7.1) and UDC Gratification and Expression of Emotions, Feelings, and Desires (Section 7.2). Each of the two UDCs is displayed with its sub-components and their respective synthesized existing cultural dimensions (Section 7.3).
