Zusammenfassung
Auch wenn der Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien in Israel politisch gewollt ist, richten sich die Anstrengungen der Energietransformation bislang in erster Linie darauf, die Energiesicherheit des Landes auf Basis von fossilen Rohstoffen zu gewährleisten (vgl. Tab. 1). Profitieren konnte Israel dabei jüngst von der Entdeckung der Erdgasfelder Tamar und Leviathan, die im Mittelmeer vor der eigenen Küste liegen. Das Erreichen der Klimaziele (vgl. Abb. 1) gerät dadurch jedoch in große Gefahr.
