Zusammenfassung
Die Diskussion um Digitalisierung im Vertrieb ist geprägt von unklaren Begrifflichkeiten, IT-Hypes und Beratergedöns. Vor diesem Hintergrund beschäftigt sich dieser Beitrag mit dem systematischen Einsatz neuer Technologien im Vertrieb. Anhand des Customer-Relationship-Managements (CRM) wird zunächst aufgezeigt, wie sich der Vertrieb seit den 1980er Jahren entwickelt hat, welche Fehler dabei gemacht wurden und wohin die Reise voraussichtlich geht. Es wird deutlich: Strategie schlägt Technik. Daher werden neue Technologien im Vertrieb in einem ersten Schritt aus strategischer Sicht betrachtet. Dabei werden Bausteine erfolgreicher Digitalisierungsstrategien mit vertrieblichen Anforderungen zielorientiert verknüpft. Im Ergebnis entsteht eine Toolbox der Digitalisierung im Vertrieb. Im zweiten Schritt werden sodann konzeptionelle Rahmenbedingungen (Auswahl geeigneter Instrumente aus der Toolbox) und operative Vertriebsprozesse (Anwendung der selektierten Instrumente in der Vertriebspraxis) diskutiert. Der resultierende Ansatz für Digital Sales Excellence erlaubt die erfolgreiche Integration neuer Technologien in die Vertriebsorganisation – ohne Fehler zu begehen, wie sie bei der Einführung von CRM zu beobachten gewesen sind. Abschließend werden mit Product-Information-Management (PIM) und Lead-Management-Automation zwei Anwendungsbeispiele für den systematischen Einsatz neuer Technologien im Vertrieb beleuchtet.
