Abstract

In Chapter 5, we have presented two coprocessor architectures that provide high flexibility for calculating the point multiplication. Flexibility is an important aspect for ECC systems. However, in this chapter we develop a cryptographic system for flash memories, where all users agree on the curve parameters, key length, and the same algorithm for the point multiplication. Hence, the flexibility is less demanding regarding the intended application. Consequently, it is advantageous to consider the calculation of the point multiplication for a single special prime such as Solinas primes [16], where the modulo reduction is very simple.
