Zusammenfassung
In den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten war ein wachsendes Forschungsgebiet zu beobachten, das sich der Frage widmet, wie wir durch die Beschäftigung mit Erfahrungen und Perspektiven aus dem Nichtwesten über die Mainstream- bzw. disziplinären IB hinausgehen sollten. Der vorliegende Aufsatz untersucht die wichtigsten Forschungsprojekte der letzten beiden Jahrzehnte, die sich auf die Untersuchung „nichtwestlicher IB“ beziehen. Insbesondere werde ich mich mit den Forschungsgebieten der „nichtwestliche IB-Theorie“, des „Worlding jenseits des Westens“, den „postwestlichen IB“, den „globalen IB“ und den eher neueren „pluriversalen IB“ beschäftigen, um eine nützliche Einführung in dieses relativ junge, aber wichtige Thema zu geben. Außerdem zeigt diese Untersuchung, dass ein zunehmend globaler, multiperspektivischer Dialog in der Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft sowohl inner- als auch außerhalb der Disziplin der IB stattgefunden hat, trotz der anhaltenden und erheblichen Meinungsverschiedenheiten in konzeptionellen, theoretischen und philosophischen Fragen.
