Hier wird die Verbindung von Produktion und GHS-Index erstmals empirisch ausgeleuchtet und auch eine statistische Perspektive für den Norden der Weltwirtschaft und für deren Süden verdeutlicht. Probleme des US-Gesundheitssystems und wichtige neue Wohlfahrtsaspekte im Kontext mit der Entwicklung der Lebenserwartung werden aufgezeigt.
