Abstract

There are multiple relationships between each individual and his or her surroundings, only a few of which are fully defined at the time of birth. Most of these relationships are formed through learning; in only a few cases are they based on instinctive reactions. This means that forming a relationship to our surroundings entails learning the meaning of the different objects around us, where they are and how we have to behave in relation to them.
