Zusammenfassung
Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in Japan seit Anfang der 1990er Jahre wird durch das Platzen der Blasen auf den japanischen Aktien- und Immobilienmärkten bestimmt. Seit Mitte der 1980er Jahre hatten starke Leitzinssenkungen in Reaktion auf die starke Aufwertung des Yen nach dem Plaza-Abkommen (Sept. 1985) ein übermäßiges Kreditwachstum und damit Blasen auf den japanischen Aktien- und Immobilienmärkten befeuert.
