Moderne Supply Chains werden durch eine hohe Komplexität, Breite und Globalität charakterisiert, da sich viele Unternehmen auf zahlreiche Zulieferer verlassen [1]. Endprodukte durchlaufen eine Reihe von Bearbeitungsstufen, wodurch sich mehrstufige Lieferketten ergeben [2]. Die Lieferanten können auf der ganzen Welt verteilt sein, sodass es für ein Unternehmen schwierig sein kann, alle Zulieferer zu verfolgen [3].
