Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag analysiert die Ernährung mit Mikroalgen anhand technischer, ökonomischer und ökologischer Aspekte der Algenkultivierung und -verarbeitung. Ergänzend wurden Bürgerinnen und Bürger zu ihren Zukunftsvorstellungen befragt und Schlüsselnarrative einer zukünftigen Ernährung mit Mikroalgen entwickelt. Die Gegenüberstellung dieser narrativen Rahmen mit dem techno-ökonomischen Potenzial schärft die unterschiedlichen Erkenntnisinteressen an der Ernährung mit Mikroalgen und zeigt gegenwärtige Handlungsoptionen auf. Die Ergebnisse setzen die Algentechnologie in einen gesellschaftlichen Kontext, der es ermöglicht Erwartungen und Bedenken zu antizipieren, Märkte für die Ernährung mit Mikroalgen zu erschließen und den globalen Herausforderungen verantwortlich gegenüberzutreten.

Algenbiomasse ohne Berücksichtigung des Wassergehaltes.

Diese gehören zu den mehrfach ungesättigten Fettsäuren und werden auch als Polyunsaturated fatty acids = PUFAs bezeichnet. Ihre wichtigsten Vertreter in Algen sind die, auch im Fischöl enthaltene, Eicosapentaensäure und Docosahexaensäure. Unser Körper benötigt Omega-3-Fettsäuren für den Bau von Zellwänden, insbesondere in Auge und Gehirn.

Die meisten Pflanzen (nur 2–3 % sind C4-Pflanzen) gehören zum Stoffwechseltyp der C3-Pflanzen, deren erstes nachweisbares Zwischenprodukt im Stoffwechsel drei Kohlenstoffatome (G3P) enthält. C3-Pflanzen zeigen aufgrund der für sie suboptimalen Menge von 0,04 Vol.-% an CO2 in der Atmosphäre auch bei zunehmender Bestrahlung eine Sättigung der Photosyntheserate.

C4-Pflanzen wie Mais und Zuckerrohr haben sich anatomisch und vom Stoffwechseltyp an starke Sonneneinstrahlung angepasst. Sie sind weniger stark von der CO2-Konzentration in der Atmosphäre abhängig als C3-Pflanzen, da sie räumlich getrennt oder zeitlich vorgelagert CO2 vorfixieren und in ihren Zellen anreichern können. Daher erfährt ihre Photosyntheserate bei Erhöhung der Lichtintensität – selbst im vollen Sonnenlicht – keine Sättigung und ist immer lichtlimitiert. Der Name C4 leitet sich vom ersten Fixierungsprodukt (Oxalacetat) ab, welches durch die Assimilation von Kohlenstoffdioxid entsteht.

Eine LCA berücksichtigt den gesamten Produktzyklus von der Wiege bis zur Bahre – je nach Definition von dem Abbau der Rohstoffe zum Bau der Anlagen und den Betrieb bis zum Recycling der Produkte und Anlagenteile.

Die Antworten wurden mit einem Complete-Linkage-Clusteralgorithmus gruppiert und korrelieren nach Spearman-K positiv. Der Algorithmus gruppiert eine Menge von Objekten so, dass Objekte in der gleichen Gruppe (Cluster genannt) in ihren Eigenschaften einander ähnlicher sind als diejenigen in anderen Gruppen (Cluster).
