Abstract
The Amazonian ayahuasca brews are known under many names: caapi, yahé, kaji, mihi, dapa, natema, shuri, kamalampi, pinde, vegetal, daime, hoasca, la purge, etc., but nowadays the most common name is ayahuasca from the northern Quechua language. 72 indigenous groups are known to use ayahuasca, and 42 different indigenous names have been reported (Luna, 1986a,b).
