Abstract
Even though the research looked into diabetes apps and the relevance of empowerment for diabetes app use, the study results can at least partly be applied to other health domains in which self-management plays a crucial role. Diabetes is a precedent for chronic disease self-management. However, other chronic diseases require similar patient initiative and self-determination.
