Abstract
After consideration of aspects of empowerment as an antecedent of diabetes app use from an app perspective in Study 1, studies 2 and 3 added a diabetes (non-) user perspective (RQ 2) as explained in Chapter 8.2 and as included in Figure 2. With a lack of basic research on underlying diabetes app adoption and usage processes (Chapter 4.2.3) as well as empowerment as a potential anteceding factor from this perspective (Chapter 7.3), Study 2 followed a qualitative research approach as a first step, before adding quantitative research in Study 3.
