Euroskeptizismus und Zentralisierung: Die Europawahl 2019 und das Zentrum-Peripherie-Cleavage in Europa

Zusammenfassung

Bei der Europawahl 2019 konnten euroskeptische Parteien ihre starken Ergebnisse von 2014 konsolidieren. Basierend auf einer überarbeiteten Konzeptionalisierung von Euroskeptizismus gibt dieser Beitrag einen Überblick über das Abschneiden dieser Parteien. Auf dieser Grundlage interpretiert der Autor Euroskeptizismus als sichtbaren Ausdruck eines zunehmend stabiler werdenden Zentrum-Peripherie-Cleavage in der EU-Politik. Der Beitrag schließt mit einigen Überlegungen zum politischen Umgang mit den politischen Repräsentanten der Anti-Zentralisierungsbewegung.
