Zusammenfassung
Unter dem Stichwort der digitalen Transformation wird in der Unternehmenspraxis die Entwicklung hin zu einer Form industrieller Wertschöpfung beschrieben, die durch weitgehende Digitalisierung, Automatisierung und Vernetzung aller an der Wertschöpfung beteiligten Akteure gekennzeichnet ist und entsprechend auf Prozesse, Produkte und Geschäftsmodelle von Unternehmen einwirkt. Den technologischen Kern dieser Vernetzung bilden sog. Cyber-Physische Systeme (CPS), die (a) mittels Sensoren Daten erfassen, (b) mittels eingebetteter Software aufbereiten und analysieren und (c) mit Fähigkeit zur Entscheidungsunterstützung und Selbststeuerung (Regler) ausgestattet (d) mittels Aktoren auf reale Vorgänge einwirken, zudem (e) über eine Dateninfrastruktur, wie z. B. das Internet, kommunizieren und (f) über Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstellen verfügen und ihrerseits selbst mit anderen CPS zu einem Internet-of-Things (IoT) vernetzt werden können.
