Abstract

In Section 2.7, it was concluded that profitable operation of a BESS depends on real-time prices, electricity price forecasts, battery aging characteristics and possibly further constraints as they may result from a PEV owner’s driving patterns or other sorts of connected loads. This chapter presents the implemented approach for BESS scheduling accounting for these aspects. The problem under consideration is a multi-stage optimization problem where an optimal charging/discharging schedule has to be computed given a time-series of electricity prices and constraints.
