Abstract

In this chapter, the fundamental concepts and terms related to the presented work are introduced. Section 2.2 gives a brief overview of a few smart grid related aspects. Due to the wide range of topics which are subsumed under the term smart grid, the focus is set on the fundamentals related to DSM which are most relevant in the context of this work.
