Zusammenfassung

Migration als spezifische Form von Mobilität wird meist in Bezug auf die räumliche Veränderung definiert. Zeitliche Aspekte dieser Abläufe (jenseits von Integrationsphasen) bleiben ebenso oft ausgeblendet wie der Bezug auf Vergangenes, also auf die Operationen sozialer Gedächtnisse. In diesem Text diese zeitlichen Aspekte von Migration und damit auch die möglichen Impulse herausarbeiten, die sich mit einer gedächtnissoziologischen Perspektive für die Migrationsforschung ergeben. Dafür werden zuerst Migrationsdefinitionen auf den Aspekt der Zeitlichkeit hin untersucht, sodann Phasenmodelle der Migration und die Migrationssystemtheorie vorgestellt, bevor an ausgewählte Arbeiten das Potential der Analyse von Vergangenheitsbezügen gezeigt wird.
