Plastik ist ein allgegenwärtiges Thema. Auf allen Social-Media-, Rundfunk- und Fernsehkanälen der Republik kann man dazu Beiträge verfolgen. Auch die internationale Politik, Aktivisten, Umweltorganisationen, Verbraucherverbände und Forschungseinrichtungen beschäftigen sich mit Plastik, allerdings mit dessen negativen Eigenschaften, denn die Plastikvermüllung unseres Planeten ist natürlich mit Recht ein globales Thema.
