Zusammenfassung
Beim Durchgang durch Kristalle wird Röntgenstrahlung elastisch gestreut. Das führt zu einer Beugung (englisch: diffraction) der elektromagnetischen Strahlung an den Elektronen der Atome. Die Kristallstrukturanalyse (X-ray crystallography), auch Röntgendiffraktometrie genannt, beruht auf der Auswertung der bei Messungen erzeugten Beugungsbilder.
