The theoretical and empirical intersection of the two constructs grief and magical thinking has not systematically been explored yet. This chapter provides an overview of the status quo in research and practice of both constructs. In the light of central theories, arguments for the plausibility of magical thinking being a recurrent component in severe grief are summarized at the end of this chapter.
