Zusammenfassung
Die deutsche Berufsausbildung genießt in vielen Ländern ein hohes Ansehen und wird heiß begehrt. Gleichzeitig stehen deutsche Unternehmen im Ausland vor der Herausforderung, in den Gastländern qualifizierte Fachkräfte zu finden. Diese Ausgangslage ergibt sich u.a. auch für die USA. Basierend auf der Debatte um Konvergenz versus Divergenz innerhalb der internationalen Unternehmensführungstheorie wird durch Experteninterviews in den USA die folgende Forschungsfrage untersucht: Wird in den Tochterunternehmen des Gastlandes ein Ausbildungskonzept ähnlich der deutschen dualen Berufsbildung verfolgt oder werden typische Konzepte des Gastlandes adaptiert? Die Befunde zeigen einen dominierenden Divergenzansatz und werden vor dem Hintergrund der landesspezifischen Rahmenbedingungen interpretiert. Zusätzlich werden Schlussfolgerungen für mögliche zukünftige Qualifizierungsstrategien in den USA dargestellt.
