Zusammenfassung
Dieses Kapitel führt in die Thematik der digitalen Bürgerbeteiligung ein. Es behandelt die wichtigsten Begriffe und relevanten theoretischen Konzepte und Klassifizierungen. Insbesondere werden die Begriffe der elektronischen Demokratie (im Englischen e-democracy), digitalen bzw. elektronischen Bürgerbeteiligung (im Englischen e-participation) und die angrenzenden theoretischen Konzepte vorgestellt und wissenschaftlich verortet. Schließlich werden die Beteiligungsarten und Modelle der elektronischen Partizipation vorgestellt. Das Kapitel gibt einen Überblick rund um die Auswirkungen der Digitalisierung und Fragen der (Re-)Demokratisierung und die aktuelle Diskussion, Herausforderungen und Trends im Bereich der E-Partizipation. Der/die LeserIn soll nach diesem Kapitel einen Überblick über die aktuelle Diskussion der digitalen Bürgerbeteiligung und deren politische Bedeutung und demokratischen Kontext erlangen.
