In diesem Kapitel wird untersucht, wie Daten gesammelt und verwendet werden, um das Hörerlebnis auf modernen Streaming-Plattformen zu personalisieren. Mit dem Fokus auf Spotifys Discover Weekly-Feature und der wachsenden Bedeutung von kontextsensitiven Empfehlungssystemen schließt das Kapitel abschließend einige der umfassenden Auswirkungen von Datafication bzgl. der Zukunft des Musikkonsumierens und -entdeckens ab.
Abstract
This chapter explores how data is collected and used to personalise the listening experience on contemporary streaming platforms. Focusing on Spotify’s Discover Weekly feature and on the growing importance of context-aware recommendation systems, the chapter concludes by looking at some of the wider implications of datafication for the future of music consumption and discovery.
