Zusammenfassung
Bewertungselemente haben sich zu einem festen Bestandteil der Architektur von Webseiten und Plattformen entwickelt. Sie begegnen uns bei der Nutzung von Online-Marktplätzen, Bewertungsportalen, sozialen Medien, Sharing Economy-Anbietern, Streaming-Diensten oder mobilen Apps. Aufgrund ihrer medialen Einbettung ist es für Analysen digitaler Bewertungspraktiken notwendig, diese im komplexen Zusammenwirken mit den jeweiligen technischen Infrastrukturen zu begreifen. Anhand des Online-Community-Marktplatzes Airbnb untersucht der vorliegende Text Bewerten als ein Beispiel für die „kleinen digitalen Datenpraktiken des Alltags“ (Süssenguth 2015, S. 7). Es werden implizite, aber wirkmächtige Normen identifiziert, die sich an drei Bewertungsimperativen festmachen lassen und die Interaktionen der NutzerInnen in hohem Maße strukturieren. Damit begegnet der Text den Anforderungen an eine Digital Sociology (Lupton 2014) und leistet einen Beitrag zur Bedeutung von Medien und Technologien für die Soziologie des Wertens und Bewertens (Lamont 2012).
