Einstellungen zum Wohlfahrtsstaat in Österreich

Zusammenfassung

Die Absicherung gegen verschiedenste Lebensrisiken und die Sicherstellungen bzw. Verbesserung der Lebenssituation „schwächerer“ Bevölkerungsgruppen ist ein zentrales Merkmal europäischer „Wohlfahrtsstaaten“, wenngleich auch in unterschiedlicher Form und Intensität (Esping-Anderson 1990; Schmid 2010; Arts und Gelissen 2012). Obwohl bereits in den 70er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts von verschiedenen Positionen her kritisch diskutiert, ist der „Sozial- bzw. Wohlfahrtsstaat“ insbesondere seit den 1990er Jahren in die Schusslinie der Kritik geraten, sowohl in Europa insgesamt als auch in Österreich.
