Abstract
Different theoretical and empirical strands of literature have contributed to the development of this thesis. This chapter introduces those studies and theoretical works that have influenced my thinking and contributed ideas to the analysis and interpretation of the three case studies. Subsequent to some introductory remarks about the scope and limits of the literature review, this chapter provides an overview to the socio-technical science publications that have contributed to the analysis of renewable energy production from a theoretical perspective.
