Zusammenfassung

Responsibility toward the environment is the most important challenge that facing governments nowadays. The issues that related to energy production such as climate change, fossil fuel depletion, and other related factors have made the planning process a completely hard task in order to meet the growing energy demands. Under these circumstances, the gap between energy demand and supply has grown quickly, and governments have sought to bridge this gap with an affordable and a clean energy supplier system. However, clean energy production requires renewable resources, e.g. Wind and solar, which are affected by multiple factors such as climatic seasons, geographical places, government’s policies and the economic situation. The effective government policies encourage renewable energy (RE) investment and urge the private sector to install renewable systems and take the maximum benefit from its capacity. With renewable portfolio standards (RPS), electricity suppliers are obliged to cover a certain share of their electricity supply with renewable energy. This paper focuses on (DMSS), which is based on a system dynamic approach in order to improve renewable energy production. Thus, this paper aims to suggest and formulate an integrated strategy in the regional sector, to develop and enhance renewable energy portfolio standards by constructing and elaborating a DMSS, using a system dynamics approach.
