Zusammenfassung

Schon immer standen Menschen unterschiedlicher Sprachzugehörigkeit vor der Aufgabe, miteinander zu kommunizieren, sei es im Kontext von Handelsbeziehungen, mehrsprachigen Reichen, Migrationen, Söldnerheeren usw. Seit jeher bediente man sich Dolmetscher/innen und Übersetzer/innen. Oft aber verwendete man eine gemeinsame (Fremd-)Sprache, z. B. Sumerisch, Akkadisch, Phönizisch, Griechisch, Latein oder Arabisch.
