Abstract
The sociological and political discourses around categories like gender, race, and class have yielded a variety of critical approaches, points of view, and academic literature. Disability, however, has for a long time been dealt with mainly in fields like pedagogy, medicine, and psychology. The emergence of the disability rights movement, both on a national and international level, has led to new research disciplines such as disability studies.
