Mobile Learning – was ist eigentlich der Kern?

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag wird der Kern von Mobile Learning herausgearbeitet und als Gegenstandsbereich medienpädagogischer und -didaktischer Überlegungen bestimmt. Aufbauend auf den verschiedenen Ansätzen, Definitionen und Kategorisierungen wird in einem ersten Schritt versucht, die spezifischen Elemente von Mobile Learning herauszuarbeiten. Im zweiten Schritt werden Modelle mobilen Lernens vorgestellt und diskutiert, um weitere bezeichnende Charakteristiken zu identifizieren. Daraus lässt sich schließlich eine Arbeitsdefinition mobilen Lernens ableiten: Mobiles Lernen wird als pädagogisch motivierter, von Lehrenden teilweise mitgestalteter und personalisierbarer Prozess verstanden, bei dem Lernende, vermittelt über eigene mobile Endgeräte, in Interaktionen mit Personen, Technologien und Kontexten treten und nachhaltig Wissen bzw. einen didaktischen Mehrwert für sich generieren. Dies bezeichnet aus der vorgestellten Position Mobile Learning im engeren Sinne. Im weiteren Sinne wird es als Lernen mit mobilen Endgeräten verstanden.
