Abstract

In this chapter, the focus is set to more advanced constraint handling methods, in particular, penalty functions. Thereby, the fitness function f is extended to \( \widetilde{f} \). This new function includes valuable information of the penalty G of a solution x. This information can be used by the optimization algorithms to improve their results.
