Zusammenfassung

In Deutschland fanden nach Angaben des statistischen Bundesamts für das Jahr 2014 12 % der Eheschließungen in einer binationalen Beziehung statt. Die Bewältigung von Stress stellt für binationale Paare ein wichtiges Thema dar. In diesem Zusammenhang ist auch auf die negativen Auswirkungen von Vorurteilen gegen binationale Paare hinzuweisen. Der Erfolg von binationalen Ehen wird gefördert, wenn beide Partner über eine gute kulturelle Kompetenz verfügen. Außerdem wirken sich binationale Ehen positiv auf den ökonomischen Status des Partners, der eine ausländische Herkunft aufweist, aus. Viele Vorteile können durch eine binationale Ehe erreicht werden. Allerdings gibt es auch Hinweise darauf, dass Frauen mit ausländischer Herkunft in binationalen Beziehungen Gefahren ausgesetzt sein können.
