Cross-Case Comparison: Testing the Research Hypotheses

Abstract

As elaborated in chapter 4.2 the comparative perspective provided by multiple case studies allows for the identification of patterns in the independent variables of the phenomenon analysed. This is a crucial prerequisite for the analytical generalisation of the findings in qualitative research designs (Yin, 2009). In this comparative case study analysis four independent variables have been drawn from the literature to derive explanations for success and failure in transnational urban partnership projects on low carbon development.
