Abstract
This study aims to contribute to the development of more inclusive international urban research. It supports the demands of post-colonial researchers for a greater inclusion of Global South experiences in theory development in general (Said, 1994; Connell, 2007) and more specifically in urban research (McFarlane, 2010; Robinson, 2002, 2006, 2011, Ward 2008).
