In diesem Kapitel geht es um die erste Stufe des Kotter-Change-Modells: darum, den „Business Case“ oder „Case for Change“ aufzubauen, der erklärt, warum eine Veränderung dringend erforderlich ist. Dazu gilt es, denn Status quo zu verstehen und mit wichtigen Unternehmenszielen abzugleichen. So lässt sich die Diskrepanz zwischen dem, was ist, und dem, was erforderlich wäre, identifizieren.
