Abstract
One of the most useful psychological approaches on the subject of totality and its possibilities is found in the work of Erik H. Erikson, the first scholar to define the concept of totalism. He introduced the concept for the first time in 1953, during a paper he presented at a conference on totalitarianism sponsored by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, called “Wholeness and Totality”.
