Zusammenfassung

Branchenspezifisch besteht in produzierenden oder distribuierenden Unternehmen zumeist die Möglichkeit für den jeweiligen Kunden (Handel), Artikel wieder zurückzusenden. Dieser oft zeit- und kostenintensive Rücklauf von Produkten, der als Retourenprozess bezeichnet wird, kann dabei eine beliebige Anzahl und unvorhersehbare Verteilung von Artikeln umfassen, die qualitätsgeprüft wieder eingelagert werden müssen.

Am Beispiel eines medienproduzierenden und -distribuierenden Unternehmens aus Deutschland sollen Herausforderungen zur Gestaltung einer kosteneffizienten Retourenabwicklungkonkret untersucht werden.

Vor dem Hintergrund sinkender Absatzzahlen und zunehmender Konkurrenz aus Billiglohnländern sollen dabei mögliche Ansätze zur Ausschöpfung von Einsparpotenzialen aufgezeigt werden. Insbesondere die bereits im Verlagswesen verbreitete Verlagerung der Retourenbearbeitung hin zum Händler (Remission) wird als Ansatz zur Reduzierung der Retouren-Prozesskosten konkret untersucht.
