Zusammenfassung
Oswald Spengler’s vision of global history and of the West’s fate generates little resonance in today’s world except insofar as it is updated to account for the rise of America in the era that began in 1945. Conversely, once the American emergence is inserted into the Spenglerian thesis, that thesis becomes a prism that can give sharp focus to fundamental developments of our time. Two points must inform our assessment of Spengler’s significance in a world dominated by America.
