Abstract
In the previous chapter, we were concerned with modelling the optimal expansion of a railway network. Of particular interest to us is the case of multi-period expansion, i.e. the task of determining an optimal set of track upgrades together with an optimal schedule to implement them. In the following, we will treat the development of effcient solution methods for this problem.
