Zusammenfassung

Der Hochfrequenzhandel sollte objektiv kritisch wahrgenommen werden. Trotz bestehender negativer Auwswirkungen auf die Marktqualität existieren durchaus unbestreitbare Vorteile, insbesondere für Privatanleger. Der Hochfrequenzhandel ist aufgrund seiner technologischen Voraussetzungen und des hohen Grades der Automatisierung im Wesentlichen dafür verantwortlich, dass sich die Gebotsstrukturen in entsprechend hoher Frequenz innerhalb kleinster Zeiteinheiten und permanent aktualisieren. Befürworter des Hochfrequenzhandels argumentieren in diesem Zusammenhang mit der durchaus zutreffenden Tatsache, dass Hochfrequenzhändler den aus wettbewerbstechnischer Sicht bestmöglichen Kurs aus der hochfrequenten Bid- und Ask-Platzierung erzeugen und damit im Hinblick auf die Marktqualität und Informationseffizienz einen entscheidenden positiven Beitrag leisten.
