Zusammenfassung

Der Raum (von mittelhochdeutsch rûm, ›das nicht Ausgefüllte‹, ›freier Platz‹) ist ein in der wissenschaftlichen Definition äußerst umstrittener Begriff. So stellt eine nahezu konträre Begriffsdarlegung von Raum ein zunehmendes Abgrenzungskriterium in der Eigendefinition von Naturwissenschaften einerseits und Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften andererseits dar. Hierbei geht es um die zentrale Frage, ob es den Raum ›an sich‹ überhaupt gibt.
