Zusammenfassung

Janusz Korczak, ein jüdisch-polnischer Autor, Doktor und Pädagoge, eine Leitfigur für die Kinderrechte, wurde als Henryk Goldszmit (1878/9-1942) in Warschau geboren, wo er auch aufwuchs. Den Namen Janusz Korczak wählte er 1898 am Anfang seiner literarischen Karriere als Pseudonym. Unter seinen Freunden und Kindern war er als Herr Doktor (nur unten Kindern) oder Alter Doktor (späteres Pseudonym vom Radio) bekannt und wurde von ihnen häufig scherzhaft so genannt.
