Zusammenfassung
Wearables sind nur der letzte sichtbare Meilenstein einer rasanten Entwicklung. Das Internet ist überall, Datenübertragungsraten steigen permanent und die Durchdringung mit Online-Diensten ist nahezu flächendeckend. Geografische Informationsdienste haben viele Bereiche im beruflichen Umfeld und in der Freizeit erreicht. Mobile Endgeräte (Tablets, Smartphones, etc.) verdrängen Desktop-PCs. Der Fitness- und Wellnessboom wird durch Fitnesstracker und Smartwatches, die Gesundheitsdaten an Smartphones und Internetplattformen weitergeben, angeheizt. Mobile Sensoren in Verbindung mit Wearables haben das Potenzial, Diagnose- und Therapieprozesse im Gesundheitswesen zu revolutionieren, wenn sie sinnvoll für Prozessoptimierungen eingesetzt werden.
