Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag thematisiert soziologische Perspektiven auf Medien und Kommunikation. Dabei ist für diese die zentrale Ausgangsfrage wie Gesellschaft durch, mittels und in Anbetracht von Medien möglich ist. Nach einer kurzen Problematisierung des Medienbegriffs wird Mediensoziologie als Erforschung der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Individuum, Gesellschaft und Medien vorgestellt. Im Anschluss daran werden zentrale gesellschaftstheoretische und handlungstheoretische Ansätze der Mediensoziologie und ihre Bedeutung für pädagogische Kontexte dargestellt.
